Kelaniya liquor shops remain closed  388 views

Liquor shops and restaurants selling liquor in the Kelaniya remain closed today since the April 17 order given by MP-elect Mervyn Silva. Speaking to Ada Derana today Silva claimed that he took the initiative since legal jurisdiction would never and now he would think about the legal proceedings.

Silva added that he can’t be always thinking about human rights especially those of liquor shop owners. I have to think of the Human Rights of those who are affected by the behaviour of drunkards, he said.

Former Labour Minister claimed that he had once drunk wine but since then been a teetotaler.

The former Minister also claimed that he had a family relation tie to Anagarika Dharmapala.
